Differential Treatment in the Workplace

We recently received a phone call from a potential client who felt that she was being treated differently at work. What was happening was her and a handful of other co-workers were forgetting to clock out when they were leaving for lunch or when they were leaving from work, and she was the only one that got written up for this; she was the only one that received any type of discipline for this. All the other people that were doing it were males, and they didn’t receive any write-up from the supervisor.

In California, if you’re being treated differently, it has to be because of a protected characteristic such as your gender, race, national origin, religion, sexual preference.
