Recently, we spoke with a potential client who was in her early 50s, and she stated that at work she’s been getting pressured to retire. Her supervisor has been asking her when she’s going to retire. Her supervisor was making comments such as, “We need younger people here. We need people that are a little more energetic.” They even went so far as to show her some retirement properties out-of-state.

In the state of California, it’s illegal to discriminate against a person because of their age, and they have to be at least 40 years of age when this happens. If you feel that you’ve been treated differently at work because of your age, give our office a call for a consultation.
